Candidates who want to be President continue to travel New York seeking votes in the April 19 primary.

  • Republican Donald Trump plans a rally at Griffiss International Airport Tuesday at 4 pm and says he’ll be in Syracuse Saturday.
  • John Kasich’s next upstate New York date is Friday morning in Watertown.
  • There is still no sign of Ted Cruz.
  • Democrat Bernie Sanders is in Rochester Tuesday morning and Syracuse’s OnCenter in the afternoon.
  • No new upstate events reported yet for Hillary Clinton.
  • But Clinton does have a new attack ad against Donald Trump. The spot blasts Trump for his policies on Muslims and abortion. It will run often in New York City this week.

New poll

A new Wall Street Journal/Marist poll shows Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton with double-digit leads in New York. Pollsters expect both to rebound when New York votes next Tuesday.

Voting absentee

Today is the last day to mail an absentee ballot to vote in New York’s April 19 primary, it needs the Tuesday postmark on the envelope.

The last day to apply in person for an absentee ballot is Monday, April 18 and it must get in the mail with a postmark that day.

Some of what you need is online at the county board of elections site, but it’s getting late.

The primary vote is next Tuesday noon to 9.
