City police are warning about a reported contractor scam in the area, after a complainant living near Douglas and Young Streets claimed a man agreed to seal their driveway and disappeared once they were paid a deposit.
The suspect is described as a white man with brown hair, goatee and arm tattoos, estimate to be around 40-years-old.
He was seen driving a gray four-door sedan with a second person inside who was not identified or described further.
Anyone with information or who has been a victim of something similar should call Sgt. Garry Williams at 607- 758-5583.
Police urge residents to be vigilant in recognizing the signs of a fraudulent contractor, including extremely low bids, issues with licensing/insurance, the requirement of large cash deposits and no local or permanent business address, among others.
