Police Identify Rider and Truck Driver in Homer Motorcycle Crash

Police have identified the motorcyclist who was seriously injured in a crash with farm truck on Route 90 in Homer Monday afternoon.

Cortland County Sheriff’s Investigators say 62-year-old Dennis Rider of Batavia, NY is critical condition today at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.

Around 1 o’clock Monday afternoon, Rider was driving a 2011 Harley Davidson Motorcycle westbound on Route 90 in Homer.

Rider was following a dump truck driven by 21-year-old Luke Reisman of Cortland. Reisman was hauling silage for New Hope View Farms, LLC, of Homer.

Rider attempted to pass the truck on a double solid line near Sweeny Road. As he passed the truck turned into his path. The truck and motorcycle came to rest on Sweeney Road.

Rider was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse with multiple injuries. No tickets have been issued at this time.
