On today’s Meet Cortland County:
David Neal, artistic director for The Arts at Grace, discussed tomorrow’s (Feb. 21) third edition of their new “Meet the Artist” series: An informal conversation with Issachah Savage.
The free virtual event starts at 3 pm on the Rose Hall Cortland Facebook page.
Savage is a dramatic tenor vocalist with experience in the Metropolitan Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera, Chicago Symphony, NY Philharmonic, Opéra National de Bordeaux and others around the globe.
His accolades include multiple awards at the Seattle International Wagner Competition and a special honor by Speight Jenkins.
Tomorrow’s event is free, but donations to The Arts at Grace are gratefully accepted.
The Arts at Grace is a community outreach of Grace and Holy Spirit Church, supported by individuals, businesses, organizations and foundations from the greater Cortland community. It’s now in its 17th season.
Neal is also a SUNY Cortland professor, but knew Savage as a student years ago while working at Morgan State University.
