David Maldonado and three others are charged in connection to sales of crack and cocaine to a police informant at a cell phone store on S. Main Street in Cortland back in March and April.

What concerns Cortland County Court is that one lawyer is representing all four.

Maldonado was before Judge Julie Campbell Thursday morning and advised about the potential conflicts of interest that could affect his case.

Maldonado, who has six felony convictions, said he wants to keep David Zukher as his lawyer.

His case was adjourned to September.

Mark Crysler, 33, told Judge Campbell he was prescribed painkillers for two years and when the prescriptions ended, he had to do anything to get them.

On Thursday, he pleaded guilty to felony Burglary, and, he and a co-defendant will have to repay more than $12,000 restitution.

Crysler’s charges in Tompkins County and in Lansing were dismissed with the plea, although he may still face charges in Cayuga County.

He’s to serve 3-1/2 years in prison and spend 2-1/2 years on probation and complete alcohol and substance treatment.

Prior to his plea, Crysler had no criminal history and in court, expressed great regrets.

David Thompson (Cortland Police photo)

You might remember the man accused of trying to help his mom by stealing another man’s wheelchair from a Port Watson Street housing complex last March.

David Thompson, 26, of Cortlandville pleaded guilty Thursday in County Court to possession of stolen property.

He was ordered to pay $400 for a broken arm on the chair.

Thompson also admitted making a bomb threat to the local Army Recruiting office in November 2015.

The pleas also satisfy additional theft and burglary charges in the city and Cortlandville.

Thompson faces up to four years at sentencing in October.
