Phillips Free Library Reopens Today

The Phillips Free Library has reopened to the public starting today, July 6th, at noon following a thorough cleaning after bed bugs were found on site.

The library originally closed back on June 21st, after the library discovered bed bugs. Cleaning and remediation were immediately done to ensure the library was cleaned before any patrons reentered the building.

To ensure bed bugs are not found in books being returned to the library, a Zapp Bug system is used, which has books placed in an insulated bag. The bag is then sealed and heated to 120 degrees or more with a timer turning off between 4 to 6 hours. Any bed bugs that may be in the bag are then dead.

Hours for the Phillips Free Library for the remainder of this week will be from 12-7pm today, Thursday, 12-5pm Friday, and 10-1pm Saturday.
