Back in December of 2022, the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office along with New York State Police and the Homer Police Department assisted the Town of Greece Police Department with an incident that occurred in Greece, NY.
The incident that took place in Greece led to a statewide bulletin to locate a vehicle and a known suspect from the incident. That vehicle was located within the Village of Homer by officers from both the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and the Homer Police Department.
A traffic stop was conducted and police interviewed the occupants of the vehicle. The operator of the vehicle, 41 year old Antwan T. Oliver of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, was turned over to the Town of Greece Police Department for their ongoing investigation.
A search warrant was executed on the vehicle by officers from the Town of Greece Police Department and Sheriff’s Office. During their search, a loaded firearm that was used in the incident in Greece, was found inside the vehicle. That weapon was also found to be reported stolen from Georgia.
An arrest warrant was issued by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office with charges on Antwan T. Oliver of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th, all Felonies, and Misdemeanors of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and False Personation.
Oliver was arrested on Monday, April 10th and arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process. He was then remanded to Cortland County Jail on $20,000 cash / $100,000 bond or $150,000 partially secured bond at 10%.
Oliver remains in Cortland County Jail as of this time. His next court appearance is scheduled for next week at Homer Town Court.
