Person Airlifted After Being Trapped Under Tree on Lincklaen Road
A person was airlifted by LifeNet following a personal injury incident Saturday afternoon, Cuyler Fire says. Just after 1 in the afternoon, Cuyler Fire, along with Madison County Ambulance, Truxton and DeRuyter Fire Departments, Tully medic car, and the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, were dispatched to a residence on Lincklaen Road for a person entrapped underneath a tree.
Cortland County 9-1-1 Dispatch reported the call came in from a neighbor, who said a person was entrapped underneath a tree in the front yard of the residence. Cuyler Fire says firefighters after arriving on scene were able to remove the tree by using their chainsaw for better access to the patient.
The patient was then transported to a landing zone for Lifenet in a field just west of the Cuyler Fire Department off of Route 13 by Madison County Ambulance. They were then airlifted to a regional hospital for further treatment. Cuyler Fire credits the team effort from neighboring departments for the swift rescue.
