John Harrison: Good morning everybody, welcome back to another edition of Peak at the Peak with John Harrison in the Cayuga Health as part of Cayuga Health System sponsored studios, and joining me over the line as always, it’s Jon Spaulding, marketing director up at Greek Peak Mountain Resort. Jon, thanks so much for joining.
Jon Spaulding: Hey, thanks for having me on again, John. This has just been a great series, uh, you know, to uh carry on the Peak at the Peak uh series into our uh, you know, summer and fall seasons, and uh, unfortunately, here we are at the end of the road of this. It went by so quick.
John Harrison: I know, yeah. I think, you know, just doing it every other week, it it it uh, you know, there was there was less time to to hang out and and chat about the the good stuff going on at Greek Peak, but I’m glad we got to do this over the the off season and and keep up to date with uh some of the stuff going on. I mean, you know, the hiking, the biking, the the the the, you know, climbing, and and of course the um, you know, all the all the really cool deals and and stuff going on at the restaurants that, you know, sometimes, you know, we might not have heard about it, but it’s uh it’s been it’s been real good getting to to catch up every other week. And I’m going to I I got to say, Jon, I’m going to miss you until December.
Jon Spaulding: Oh yeah, I’ll miss you too, brother. I mean, we’ve uh we’ve had a good run here and uh, you know, it’s been great talking about um just uh all of the great things going on at Greek Peak that are, you know, not snow related, but uh yeah, it’s you can tell it’s getting cooler and we’ll take a little break, but I’ll probably be getting back with you in December to talk more Peak at the Peak.
John Harrison: Yeah. I mean, seems like the cold weather just kind of crept in and and settled in on us uh, you know, like that. You know, it’s it’s been pretty chilly this week, but uh not too cold and and pretty sunny as well, uh which has been pretty ideal weather for the Zip & Sip, right?
Jon Spaulding: Yeah, the Zip & Sip. Uh so I think it’s only appropriate that uh, you know, this being the last uh Peak at the Peak for this season, um that we talk talk about some lasts coming up here. And uh the Sunset Zip & Sip, our last one is tonight, uh Friday, and uh we want to thank Heirloom for sponsoring that. It’s been a great um great event for us, and there are still spots available uh for one last Zip & Sip tour. Uh you got to go to greekpeak.net for that, um but I encourage you if you haven’t gotten out here to see a sunset, uh you know, via the zip line and then enjoy a nice beverage on Trax deck, now’s the time to do it.
John Harrison: Yeah, folks, make sure to to get out there. I mean, Zip & Sip is a is a great time, and if uh this week’s weather is anything to go off of, it’s going to be a little bit too cold the next couple of weeks to even get out there, so it’s a great night for the last Zip & Sip, and, you know, make sure to to get involved. You said, you know, there’s a couple of more lasts coming up that we want to mention. Um, you know, what else is going on up at the mountain?
Jon Spaulding: Yeah, yeah, our uh our final uh uh Burgers, Brews & Views up at the Lookout at Hope Lake is coming up uh this coming Tuesday, the uh 29th, um and we have The Elderly Brothers Band scheduled for entertainment that day. But the Burgers, Brews & Views series has been really popular uh, you know, through the late spring and all the way into the fall, and we want to thank uh Beginnings Credit Union for for getting behind that. Um and uh, you know, it’s been a great event, and if you want if you haven’t been out all summer, uh we’re still getting great crowds and I’d encourage you to uh, you know, go to greekpeak.net, check out all the details on that, and come up to uh the Lookout at Hope Lake for the final Burgers, Brews & Views.
John Harrison: Ah, that’s such a sad uh, you know, even just deal to to be losing out on uh, you know, just getting a a burger, drink, and a great view of the area um all for that that that one low price, right? It’s 16 bucks and—
Jon Spaulding: 15 bucks, yeah.
John Harrison: Yeah, really can’t beat it. Um but you know, there’s there’s a lot of lasts, and uh and and that’s just kind of the nature of of summer ending and and seasons changing, but uh summer ending means we’re coming into fall and Greek Peak’s got a real fun festival for fall coming up in uh just a couple of weeks, October 10th?
Jon Spaulding: Yeah, the event of the season, Fall Fest. It’s uh growing in popularity uh every year, and it’s just a great way to uh get out and get the best of Greek Peak all at one low price. Um so uh you can come out and enjoy a a coaster ride, a sky tour on the chairlift, uh the water park, um and then you can also spend the day at the uh in the festival area where we got two great bands scheduled. Uh we got Dead & Friends um in the afternoon, and then closing it up with uh Fall Creek Brass Band in the later afternoon. Uh just a great, great event. Um the pumpkin cannon will be back, it’s a grown to be a favorite amongst uh festival goers. Uh but we’ll continue to have the petting zoo and the pump—uh let’s see, the pumpkin painting and bracelet making, and uh we have some corn cob shooters, and we’ll have face painting, and uh I think we’re even going to have uh someone from Waterfall Spa here doing some chair massages. So, something for everybody. Check it out, greekpeak.net, Fall Fest. Um All-Access passes just 39 bucks, and you’re going to want to get those quickly because there is a limited quantity that we’re allowing for that day, so you’re going to want to buy yours in advance.
John Harrison: Yeah, got to make sure to hop on that, folks. And uh Fall Fest is going to be a great time. I mean, it’s it’s, you know, the perfect weather is is that early October. You know, the the leaves are changing, it’s not too cold yet. Um it’s going to be so nice up there on the mountain with with all those great activities, you know, fun for for really everyone, the whole family’s going to have a great time. And that’s October 10th Fall Fest coming up at Greek Peak. Uh Jon, thanks so much for for jumping on the line and and chatting me for for one last edition of our Peak at the Peak off season.
Jon Spaulding: Yeah, thanks again, John. It’s been a great season and it’s been great working with you.
John Harrison: Yeah, it’s been great working with you, and I’m looking forward to December when we can pick this back up in a weekly format uh when Peak at the Peak returns. Folks, that’s going to be uh sometime in December when uh skiing, snowboarding, and and all the great uh snowy activities are are back up in full swing up the mountain.
Jon Spaulding: Thanks again, John.
John Harrison: Yeah, thanks so much Jon for for calling in for one last edition of Peak at the Peak. For everyone listening at home, it’s been John Harrison on X101.
