Paving Projects Continue This Week in City of Cortland: Work on Homer Ave Begins Wednesday
Paving projects in the City of Cortland will continue through next week, according to a public notice. All roadwork is weather dependent.
On Tuesday, crews will pave the topcoat on Harmony Circle, Leon Avenue and Snyder Drive.
Micropaving will begin on Homer Avenue at 7 a.m. Wednesday. Work will start at the intersection of West Main Street and North Main Street and continue north to the city line. Traffic on Homer Avenue will be reduced to one lane during the work.
Around noon Wednesday, crews are expected to shift south from the West Main Street and North Main Street intersection toward Groton Avenue. That portion of the project is expected to continue through Thursday, with minor work scheduled for Friday.
Guthrie Cortland Medical Center is reminding patients and visitors that the paving may cause delays in accessing hospital parking lots. Hospital lots will remain accessible, but travelers should allow additional time and may want to consider alternate routes while the work is underway.
Storm drain and large pothole repairs are scheduled for Homer Avenue on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Final paving on Fifth Avenue and Evergreen Street is also scheduled for Sept. 8.
The dates are estimates and are subject to change depending on weather conditions.
