Paul McCartney has lent his musical talents to a new song by young Indigenous Australian singer/songwriter Thelma Plum, whose full-length debut album, Better in Blak, will be released on July 12.
According to The Fader, McCartney wrote guitar parts for a Plum tune called “Made for You,” which closes the album. The rock legend’s contribution came about when he visited Plum while she was recording part of Better in Blak in a New York City studio.
Plum, a member of Australia’s Gamilaraay people, recently released a video for her new album’s title track, which addresses racism in her home country.
The 2019 North American leg of McCartney’s Freshen Up Tour continues tonight, May 30, in Greenville, South Carolina. The trek is plotted out through a July 13 concert in Los Angeles.
