Patient at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center Arrested After Two Nurses Were Violently Attacked and Sexually Abused

Cortland Police say they responded to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center in the City of Cortland to investigate two separate incidents where a nurse in each incident was violently attacked and sexually abused by a patient at the hospital. The incidents took place on May 5th and 7th according to the arrest release by police.

CPD say they’ve arrested 45 year old Francisco E. Rodriguez on Tuesday, May 7th. In a release, police say Rodriguez had made threats to harm an rape female staff members.

Rodriguez faces charges of Attempted Rape in the 1st, Sexual Abuse in the 1st, both Felonies, Forcible Touching, and Unlawful Imprisonment in the 2nd, both Misdemeanors.

Cortland Police says neither of the two nurses attacked had suffered any serious physical injuries.

Rodriguez was arraigned in Cortland City Court and remanded to Cortland County Jail on bail of $500,000 dollars. He is due back in court later this month.
