Pancake Eaters Announced For Upcoming CNY Maplefest in Marathon
More in Local News:
The 53rd Annual Maple Festival is happening throughout the Village of Marathon on April 5th and 6th, right as spring arrives. One of the most popular events that takes place each year on Saturday morning at 9am at the Marathon High School Auditorium is the famous pancake eating contest. The contest is now in its 27th year. Those who take-part in the pancake eating contest will eat pancakes and raise money for a not-for-profit they support.
This year, Maple Fest organizers say 8 participants have taken on the challenge including last year’s champion, Dan Cross. All pancake eaters and the not-for-profits they represent are soliciting pancake pledges now.
Last year, over $8,000 was raised by the pancake eaters for their various organizations.
This year’s participants and the not-for-profit they’re supporting are:
- Dan Cross – Marathon Central School Trap Shooters
- Glenn Pitcher – The Bridge Community Center
- Connie Coppola – Stratton VA Medical Center Fisher House
- Camdyn Kashuba – MCS Class of 2026
- Sam Carlton – Seven Valley Health Coalition
- Patrick Rand – Homer Boys Varsity Wrestling Club
- Dave Mahoney – Marathon Lions Club
- Myron Swartz – Southern Tier Lyme Support Group
