A serious accident overnight closed Route 13 in the Village of Lansing at about 2 am Thursday.
New York State Police officers arrived to find a car that struck a tractor trailer.
The car was traveling toward Ithaca when it crossed over into the oncoming lane, striking the tractor trailer on the snowy, icy road.
Troopers observed a small fire starting in the vehicle and quickly put it out with a fire extinguisher.

She was removed from her vehicle by the Lansing Fire Department and taken to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for what police describe as head and leg injuries. A 15 year-old female passenger, also from Ithaca, was also transported to Upstate with what were reported as minor injuries.
Troopers say the driver of the tractor trailer was a 67 year-old man from Trumansburg, who was taken to Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca for minor injuries.
Route 13 was closed for about five hours as the troopers investigated the crash.
The road was reopened at 7 am.
The investigation is ongoing.
