After a month-long initiative conducted by Price Chopper and Market 32 to aid the American Red Cross, the company is proud to announce that $67,796.24 was raised for the Red Cross’s Disaster Relief Program.

During the month of September, the two grocery store chains partnered with the American Red Cross by asking patrons to round-up their change while at checkout to the nearest dollar. Price Chopper and Market 32 also contributed $10,000 dollars to the campaign.

“Every eight minutes someone needs the Red Cross. We don’t know who will need our help today, or where we will need to go tomorrow. Price Chopper/Market 32 support ensures we can be there 24/7 bringing hope and healing where it’s needed most. We are so grateful for their friendship and the support of their customers” said Kevin Coffey, Regional CEO, American Red Cross Eastern New York Region.

The American Red Cross works to aid those affected by disasters including hurricanes, fires, and floods. The Red Cross responds to nearly 64,000 disasters each year with 95% of their disaster relief workers being volunteers.
