Over 130 Arrested During Super Bowl Weekend For DWI State Police Says

New York State Police say they have arrested 139 people who were driving while intoxicated during their STOP DWI Enforcement Campaign this past weekend. Overall, Troopers issued over 6,800 tickets during the campaign which went from Friday, February 9th through Sunday, February 11th.


During the campaign, Troopers increased their patrols and had sobriety checkpoints to deter, identify and arrest those driving while impaired. State Police investigated during the weekend 245 crashes that led to 37 people being injured, no fatal accidents occurred during the campaign.

For Troop C, the Troop that covers Cortland and Tompkins Counties, had 13 DWI arrests, and 465 total tickets issued.
