One Taken to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center After Single-Vehicle Crash on McGraw-Marathon Road
One person was transported to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center for minor injuries after a single-vehicle crash. Just after 12:30 in the afternoon on Tuesday, March 25th, Marathon Fire, the Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (MAVAC), and the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a crash in the area of McGraw-Marathon Road and Sperry Road in Freetown.
The Sheriff’s Office says, their officers learned the operator of the vehicle involved in the crash, a 2009 Toyota Camry, had a medical incident which caused the crash. The vehicle traveled off of the roadway and collided with a utility pole before resting in a field.
Additionally assisting on scene were NYSEG, who worked to cut-power to the affected utility pole, and CNY Towing. Power was briefly disrupted in the area due to the crash.
