One Arrested After Vehicle Flees State Police

One person is in custody after a high speed chase ended with the vehicle facing the wrong way on Main Street at the Tompkins/Port Watson Street intersection around 2:30pm today, November 15th.

State Police told X101 News a State Trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a blue BMW convertible on I81 when the vehicle then failed to comply and fled. The suspect ended up traveling in the City of Cortland at speeds reportedly over 100mph.

The incident remains under investigation and the identity of the suspect has not yet been release by State Police.
