Cortland Repertory Theatre is offering two, one-act plays to help you get in the spirit of Halloween.
First, The Birds, a new psychological drama by Conor McPherson
adapted from the short story by Daphne du Maurier.
Second, The Receptionist, an intriguing dark comedy by Adam Bock.
Both plays are directed by freelance director Shaun Peknic, Associate Director of the Tony Award winning Broadway musical Once and CRT’s production of Sherlock Holmes and the West End Horror.
Four actors share their talents by performing in both plays, including:
- Deborah Ann Smith as Beverly in The Receptionist and Diane in The Birds
- Leroy S. Graham as Mr. Dart in The Receptionist and Nat in The Birds
- Whitney Conkling as Lorraine in The Receptionist and Julia in The Birds
- Chris Nickerson as Mr. Raymond in The Receptionist and Tierney in The Birds
WXHC’s Brad Smith and Joel Brown recently had an opportunity to chat with Peknic. This segment was part of the always local morning show on Wednesday, October 12.
