OCM BOCES Teacher Receives Threatening Texts and Voicemails

A complaint came to the City of Cortland Police Department on Friday, April 14th of a teacher who is employed at OCM BOCES in Cortlandville receiving threatening text messages and voicemails from a Joseph Pohl.




The messages the teacher received were threatening in nature and threatened violence to the teacher. The threats were made by Pohl from a perceived problem with the school.

Cortland Police issued an arrest warrant for Pohl. He was arrested two days later on Sunday, April 16th and charged with Making a Terroristic Threat, a Felony, and Aggravated Harassment in the 2nd, a Misdemeanor.

Pohl was arraigned in Cortland City Court and sent to Cortland County Jail on $2,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He is due to reappear in court later this month.
