William R. Mandeville, 82, of South Otselic, NY, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015, at the NYS Veteran’s Home, Oxford, NY.
Mr. Mandeville was born in Retsof, NY, on December 2, 1932, a son of the late Charles and Lizzie Nichols Mandeville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, having proudly served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Otselic Valley Central School as the school librarian after 30 plus years of service.
He is survived by his daughters, Melanie Maroney of McDonough, Melissa Mandeville of Norwich, and Melinda Mandeville of South Otselic. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Josie Maroney, Jameson Maroney, Carly Christian, Lee-anne Laden, and Tanner Byrnes; a great-grandchild, Aurora Maroney; brothers, Charles (Gwen) Mandeville of Gainesville, FL and Ray (Olga) Mandeville of Spencerport; a brother-in-law, Gene Bour of Greece, NY; a sister-in-law, Millie Mandeville of Perry; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Carl and James Mandeville; and a sister, Sally Ann Bour.
Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Carl Johnson officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in Valley View Cemetery, South Otselic. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.
