Vivian R. Nilsen, 98, of Cortland, went home to her Lord and Savior on December 3, 2022. Born in Mexico, N.Y., Vivian was the daughter of Stuart and Nina Wagner Daniels. She was formerly employed at Grant’s Bakery and then The Elizabeth Brewster House before moving to the Schenectady area for many years. Vivian then returned to Cortland in 2006 to be closer to her family. She was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include; two daughters; Catherine (Gary) Pai of Moravia and Patricia Strong (Bill) of Cortland, a beloved granddaughter; Lorraine “Lorrie”Smith of Groton, a dear friend; Elsie Todd of Cortland and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband; Howard Nilsen, a son; Charles Grant and daughter; Shirley Grant.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 5 p.m. from the Chapel of Riccardi Funeral Home, Cortland, N.Y. The family will be present to receive friends on Friday from 3-5 p.m. prior to the start of services. Burial delayed until spring will be in Atwater Cemetery, Homer, N.Y. www.riccardifuneralhome.com
