Taylor Lindsay Yacavone, born May 4, 1997, passed peacefully of natural causes in her sleep at the age of 22 on December 11, 2019. She graduated from Cortland High School Class of 2015. Taylor was currently employed at Dryden Middle School as a Teacher’s Aide, a position she thoroughly enjoyed.
Taylor was quiet, soft spoken, caring and loving most of the time, but under all that she could be stubborn. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cats, and dog Sadie. Growing up she had a love for horses, shopping, clothes, makeup, as well as hippos and the ocean.
She is survived by her parents Lauri Mauzy and Mark (Corky) Yacavone; her brothers Mathew Yacavone, Eli, Lukas and Ethan Mauzy; sisters Kelly Armstrong, Savannah ad Meghan Mauzy; grandparents Sherman Mauzy, Charles Yacavone (Diane Miller), Deborah Williams (Ron Bailer); step-grandparents Cindy and Jeff Holcomb and Jerry Macumber; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Taylor was predeceased by her grandmother Johann (Mimi) Mauzy.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, December 14 from 11am to 1pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home with services at 1:30pm. Family and friends will gather at the McLean Fire Station following the services to celebrate her life.
Because of Taylor’s compassion for children with autism, donations in her memory may be made to Puzzle Solvers, 50 Clinton Ave Cortland, NY 13045.
