Robert “ Bob” Jones 68 of McGraw N.Y. passed away unexpectedly on July 17, 2022 at Guthrie Medical Center with the love of his life holding his hand.
Bob retired from Economy Paving as a Forman for bridge construction, he was a member of the Carpenters Union, logged, and with his sharp wit a genuine jack of all trades. Bob served our country as a US Marine, he was a marksman at the top of his class.
First and foremost Bob loved spending time with his wife and his dogs and working on the home he built. One of his greatest skills was being able to build anything in the most efficient way. Bob was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and shoot trap and skeet and was a member of the McGraw Sportsman Club. In retirement he was a busy man remodeling his home, he also made time to take Paula for rides on the ranger to the property and sit on his deck to drink coffee and watch the humming birds with Paula.
Bob was a cut and dry man, very quick witted, precise with a great sense of humor. If you were lucky enough to know him you would know what a huge heart he had.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Paula Costello-Jones of 25 years. His daughter; Audrey Jones and step-children; Katie (Russell) Lockwood, Jesse (Lindsey) Cornell, and Greg (Carmen) Cornell. His grandchildren Brooklyn, Taylor, Colbie, Baylee, Boston and Braxton and his great- grandchildren Maci, Hoyt, Briar and Miss Brynlee. Bob was predeceased by his mother Vinnie Jones and his dogs Maxwell, Wesson and most recently this week Smith.
There will be a celebration of life for Bob on Sunday July 24th at 4 p.m. at the McGraw Sportsman Club.
Paula would like to thank the First Responders, Mike Winchel, Jodie Bush, Stevie Dayton, Jameson and Luke Livermore, McGraw Sportsman Club and endless amounts of friends and family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Riccardi Funeral Home, Cortland, N.Y.
