Obituary of Pasquale Ciambriello
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pasquale Ciambriello, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. Pasquale, known as an artist and craftsman who tirelessly provided for his family, peacefully passed away on February 22, 2025. He was 77 years old.
Born on April 18, 1947 in Airola, Italy, Pasquale came to America at the age of 8. Growing up in Brooklyn, Pasquale embraced all that his new country and city had to offer. He joined the Excavators Union Local 731 in Manhattan and worked on some of the most prominent job sites in the city—the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, the World Trade Center following the 9/11 attacks, and the Port Authority Bus Terminal, to name a few—for over 37 years until retirement. Along the way, he started taking classes at the preeminent Art Students League of New York on 57th street, where he met the love of his life and wife of over 50 years, Lorraine. His strength, warmth, gusto for life, and sense of humor will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine Karpowich, his three children Richard (Colleen), Christina (Stephanie), and Peter (Olivia), and his grandchildren Rosalia, Nico, Luca, and Giada. Pasquale was predeceased by his parents Giuseppe and Olga, and brother Carmine.
A funeral mass to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, March 1 at 10:30 at St. Mary’s Church in Cortland, NY followed by a burial in St. Mary’s cemetery.
Though he is no longer with us, Pasquale’s spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
