Mary M. Catalano, 97, of Cortland, passed away on October 26, 2021.
She was born on January 7, 1924 in Cortland to her parents, the late Francesco Catalano and Giovanina Valenzo Catalano. She worked for 45 years as a Sewing Machine Operator at the Crescent Corset Company. Mary enjoyed watching TV and taking care of people.
Ms. Catalano is survived by her sister Catherine Fredenburg, her brother-in-law Harry Overby, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, James, Dominick and Anthony “Rocky”; Catalano, sisters Carmella Overby, Lena Lago, and Angeline Johnsen.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. with a funeral service to begin at 1:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Cortland.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider a donation to St. Anthony’s Church.
