Loren Le Roy Barrows (67) went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 5,2024 at his home. He was born at Cortland Hospital on January 22, 1957, in Cortland, NY. He was the son of the late Nancy Lou Barrows- (Westerholm) and the late Albert Lynn Barrows. He is survived by children Desiree Barrows, Christian Barrows; grandchildren: Jayden Sherwood, Kendrah Goyette and Colton Barrows, and several great grandchildren. His siblings Diana Barrows, Deborah (Roy) Torrey, Darlene (Frank) Carle, Leon Barrows, several nieces, nephews and cousins, his Aunt Carol Gould, his friend Angela, her children, and several friends.
One of Loren’s greatest passions was music. He passed his musical talents down to his children as he often sang to them and taught them to play the guitar, starting them out at a very young age. He was often found singing and strumming his guitar in his spare time. He loved sharing his love of music with others, whether it was performing solo or with friends in a band. In his later musical career, he was seen performing quite often at the Country Music Park in Cortland, NY. Loren’s best performances were those he performed with his family at family gatherings. Loren began playing Bluegrass music on stage at Echo Lake Park, Sunday Church Services, and anywhere his father Albert performed. Loren began performing live at the tender age of eight. He always had a song in his heart and was very naturally gifted.
Loren’s celebration of Life will be celebrated at: Perkins Funeral Home- 55 W Main Street, Dryden, on Thursday, February 15. The viewing will be held from: 11 am -12 pm Services to follow at 12 pm and the burial will be in Willow Glen Cemetery Dryden NY.
