Lois L. Horton, 87, passed, May 3rd 2023, peacefully at her home surrounded by a loving family and a beloved cat named Precious under the care of hospice. Lois was born in Cortland, NY September 8, 1935 to Clifford Hopkins and Louise Mundy Hopkins.
Lois is survived by her children Debbie Jones of Cortland,NY; Cindy Horton of Cortland, NY; and Charles Horton of Watertown, NY; grandchildren Jason Hutchings, Patrick Hutchings, Jesse Hutchings, Nate Horton, Tara Grim, Dillon Dallaire, many nieces and nephews, great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother Clifford Hopkins, her sister Dawn Elster, her brother Leon Searls Jr., her husband of 46 years Charlie Horton, and her sister Joann Green (Hopkins).
She enjoyed dancing, music, and playing pitch. She was the life of the party, always smiling, and would make sure to put a smile on your face. Her love for Elvis Presely was undeniable.
A celebration of life will take place at The St. Charles in the near future. Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. is assisting the family with arrangements.
