Karen O’Rourke Nielsen, 56, of Cortland, passed away on September 29, 2021. Born June 9, 1965 in Topeka, Kansas Karen had been a Cortland resident for many years. She was the daughter of Gerald and Patricia Jennings O’Rourke of Cortland, who survive her.
Karen was employed locally by, Access to Independence, Office of The Aging and the J.M. Murray Center. She was also previously employed the U.S. Treasury Department.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband; Dale Nielsen of Cortland, two brothers; John O’Rourke of Cortland and Brian (Deirdra) of Westfield, Indiana., sister in laws; Susan Nielsen of Syracuse and Linda Nielsen of Rochester and many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as many Aunts and Uncles.
Services will be held at the Chapel of Riccardi Funeral Home on Thursday October 7, 2021 at 11 a.m. Prayers of committal will take place in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
