Mrs. Joanne Gage Thudin, 81, a lifelong resident of LaFayette, passed away on December 29, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, N.Y. Joanne was born February 18, 1938 and had been a LaFayette resident until July 2017 when she moved to Syracuse for her medical care.
A 1955 graduate of LaFayette High School, Joanne then went on to graduate with a Nursing Degree from Caledonia Hospital School of Nursing in Brooklyn, N.Y. Joanne was employed for many years in local hospitals and then went on to be employed for 25 years for Onondaga County’s home care division and also for five years for VNA Homecare.
Joanne was a member of the Columbian Presbyterian Church in LaFayette since 1950, where she also served as a Deacon and Elder and a member of the Golden Circle. She was preceded in death by her husband; Robert in September 1999 as well as a sister; Ruth Cobb in May 2017
Survivors include her children; Mary (Brian) Schweitzer of Liverpool, Ralph (Donna) D’Agostino of LaFayette and Katrina Thudin (Kenneth Williams) of Syracuse, her three beloved grandchildren, Joseph D’Agostino, Nadine D’Agostino and Jeanette D’Agostino, a cousin; Raymond Bishop of Jamesville and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at the Columbian Presbyterian Church in LaFayette later in March of 2020 and will be announced by Riccardi Funeral Home, Cortland, N.Y.
