Jessica Lee Cotterill was born at Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, NY, August 6, 1978. After battling intense personal struggles for years, she passed away November 28, 2021, at Cayuga Medical Center, Jessica was 43 years old.

Jessica was preceded in death by her father Alan B. Cotterill of Dryden, NY, and her brother Christopher J. Castrenze of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. She is survived by her mother Velma Cotterill of Eustis, Florida, her brother Andrew J. Castrenze (Kimberly White), of Centerville, Massachusetts, her son Hunter Allis of Dryden, NY, and her daughter Taylor Allis of Dryden, NY. She is also survived by her niece Alyson Castrenze of Oviedo, Florida, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and last, but not least – her Brittany spaniel “Luna” who she loved unconditionally.

For most of her adolescent and early teen years Jessica was involved in ski racing through the Greek Peak Ski Club. One of her former coaches described her as always energetic and fun, an exciting athlete who experienced years of success in racing. Her brother Andy was one of her coaches and he will always remember fondly their shared experiences on the ski team. After she stopped competing in ski racing, she joined the Dryden High School Cheerleading team and enjoyed great success there, her athleticism shined again.

Jessica had a lot of friends while growing up and kept in touch with many of them over the years. Her friends have said that she always liked to have fun, and to laugh, she had a vast array of movie one-liners that she enjoyed dropping into conversations. She spent time hunting and hiking, she also enjoyed going shooting, if it was an outdoor activity there was a good chance that she would enjoy it, even if it was just mowing the lawn or planting flowers.

There will be calling hours at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St, Dryden on Saturday, December 18th, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with a memorial service to follow at 4:00 pm.
