Obituary of Jesse Stevens Jr.

Jesse Stevens Jr passed away September 26, 2026 after an extended illness.  

Born in December of 1959 in Cortland, he was the son the late Jesse and Charlotte Stevens of East Homer.  

Jesse (or “Pete” as his family and friends knew him) had a lifelong love of agriculture, whether it was working on his family farm or helping with someone else’s.   He enjoyed beekeeping, woodworking, and his years of work with the Truxton Fire Department.  What he loved most was spending time with his family.

Jesse is survived by Susan, his loving wife of 43 years.  He is also missed by his daughter Sheena (Drew) Hill and his granddaughter Lanie.  Pete is also survived by his siblings Patricia (Tim) Olley, Denise (John) Pitman, and Bill (Carol) Stevens, his great aunts Barb Rounds and Betty Rood, and his many nieces and nephews.  

Per Pete’s wishes, there will be no services.  A celebration of life is being planned for a later date, with details to follow.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Truxton Fire Department and Auxilitry.
