Obituary of Janice L. Sears

June 30, 1954 – September 8, 2024

Mrs. Janice L. Sears, 70, of Locke, N.Y. and formerly of Preble, passed away on September 8, 2024 at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center. Born June 30, 1954 in Worcester, Mass; Janice with her late husband, Russell relocated to the Cortland area from Hingham, Massachusetts in 1996.

Janice was employed for many years as a Registered Nurse with Guthrie Cortland Medical Center. She was a lover of animals especially her beloved horses, many of which were rescued by Janice.

She is survived by her son; Matthew of Locke. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell in 2005.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. from the Preble Congregational Church. Prayers of committal will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Preble, N.Y. Friends may call on Wednesday in the church from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. prior to services.
