Mrs. Gilda Mary Bellardini, 95, of Little Falls, New Jersey and formerly of Cortland, passed away at Vitas Hospice Monday March 21, 2022 in Wayne, New Jersey. Born May 7, 1926 in Cortland, Gilda was the daughter of Giacomo and Maria Colicchia Coggi and was a Cortland resident for most of her life before relocating to New Jersey three years ago. Gilda was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church and was formerly employed by the Crescent Corset Co, and Barbara Moss in downtown Cortland.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Angelo George Bellardini and his wife, Kathy of Wayne, New Jersey, her four grandchildren; Dr. Jason Bellardini, Elyse Ricca and husband, Keith, Kiara Kirschbaum and husband, Philipp and Megan Bellardini, great grandchildren Kaiden, Jack, Kensey Ricca, and Skylar Kirschbaum, sister-in-law, Grace Coggi, niece Shirley Tutino, nephews Victor, James and Eugene Coggi,
In addition to her parents; Gilda was preceded in death by her loving husband; Giorgio Bellardini, and by brothers; Gerald Coggi, Victor Coggi, and infant brother Angelo Coggi, sister-in-law Anna Coggi, brother-in-law Renzo Bellardini and his wife Mirella and nephew, Jerry Coggi.
Gilda traveled through Europe in her early life and marriage spending much time in Rome, Italy. But her life was always about her family. Quiet by nature, Gilda enjoyed the joy and laughter brought by her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church. Prayers of committal will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends on Friday from 5-7 p.m. in the Chapel of Riccardi Funeral Home, Cortland, N.Y.
