Frank Cameron Vorhis III passed away on June 14th 2023, at the age of 70. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Cam came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
He was born on January 25, 1953 to Frank C. Vorhis II and Virginia W. Vorhis in Ithaca NY. He was a lifelong resident of Brooktondale. He was predeceased by both of his parents and his oldest brother Robert Dean.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathy (McMillen) Vorhis, his two children Carrie (Shawn) Baylor and Andrew (Allison) Vorhis, his 5 grandchildren Chelsea (Kevin) Kilmer, Matt (Krista) Grant, Brennan Baylor, Abigail and Montana Vorhis and his 2 great grandchildren Seth and Jace Grant.
Cam is also survived by his siblings; Helen W. Vorhis, Carol (David Wright) Vorhis, Sheila (Greg) Robideau, Douglas (Joanne) Vorhis, Gregg (Mary Alice) Vorhis, Sister-in-law Judy Dean, and many nieces and nephews.
He thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing and the yearly 4th of July reunions. His favorite fishing hole was six-mile creek behind the blue house. He mostly enjoyed making memories with his children and grandchildren. He was known to toss a small snake or two at unsuspecting victims. He had a real zest for life and always had a way of making others feel loved.
Services will be held at 5 pm on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY with Steve Lawrence as celebrant. Friends may call from 3-5 pm prior to the service.
