Edward W. Sinram, 64, of Union Springs and formally from Homer, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 24, 2015.
He graduated from St. Mary’s School, Cortland, in 1968, graduated from Alfred College and enlisted in the US Army in November, 1971, where he was stationed in England.
Prior to his retirement due to disability he worked for GE Syracuse and was a member of the Homer Elks Lodge #2506.
Ed’s life was a daily challenge. He fought MS for over 40 years and was on kidney dialysis for the last 9 years. He never gave up and his sense of humor never wavered. He spent winters in Florida at his sister’s and summers on beautiful Cayuga Lake.
Edward is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Richard Sage of Cape Coral, FL; a nephew, Kevin (Lindasue) Moss of Homer; niece, Tracy Moss of Lewis Center, OH; great nieces, Ashley Moss of Castleton,VT; Kayleigh Moss of Homer and a great nephew, Owen Moss of Lewis Center, OH. He is also survived by several step-nieces and nephews and cousins.
He is predeceased by his mother, Rita Sinram of Cortland and father, Edward R. Sinram of San Jose, CA.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 N. Main St., Homer. Interment, with Military Honors,ill follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cortland.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
