Obituary of Danny L. Nye

Mr. Danny L. Nye of Cortland passed away on April 25, 2025 after a lengthy illness. Born May 17, 1951 in Cortland, Danny was the son of Leonard and Phyllis Slater Nye who preceded Danny in death.

Danny was formerly employed by Borg-Warner in Ithaca and prior to that was employed by Marietta in Cortland. He is survived by his daughter; Heather (Matthew) Stacy of Homer and a brother; Gary (Darnell) Nye of Auburn; three grandchildren; Isabella, Carter and Caleb., as well as a special nephew; Jeremy Nye.

In addition to his parents; Danny was preceded in death by his wife; Melody in 2017; a brother; Jerry Nye and Aunt Carrie.

The family will receive friends on Thursday May 1, 2025 from 5-6 p.m. in the Chapel of Riccardi Funeral Home 69 N. Main St., Cortland, N.Y. 13045. Prayers of committal in Truxton Cemetery will be at the convenience of family.
