Obituary of Charlotte M. Holl

Charlotte M. Holl, of James St., Homer, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday March 5, 2023 at the age of 94.

A resident of the Cortland and Homer area most of her life, she was born November 28, 1928 in Solon, a daughter of the late Clifford and Leola Rice Eaton.

Charlotte was a longtime communicant of St. Margaret’s Church, Homer, and a was a member of the Cortland Women of the Moose #72.

She had bowled in the Cortland Leagues since 1962, where she was a member of the Cortland Bowling Association and the Cortland Bowling Hall of Fame.

Over the years, Charlotte had been a hairdresser, waitress and a cook. In addition to bowling, she enjoyed golfing, crafts and especially her many friends at Cort-Lanes.

Surviving are her sons, Ronald Holl of Dryden; Randy (Kimberly) Holl of Homer; Thomas Holl of Egg Harbor, NJ; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Brewer of Jacksonville, AL; several nieces, nephews, cousins and her best friends, Lisa and John Wallace.

She was predeceased by her husband, Francis I. Holl, Jr. in 2009; son, James Holl; a sister, Marty Kash and her brothers, Lawrence ‘Happy’ Eaton and LeRoy Eaton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2023 at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, 14 Copeland Ave., Homer, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cortland.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Holl’s name may be directed to St. Margaret’s Church or the charity of one’s choice.
