Carole G. Harris 78 of Preble NY earned her angel wings and passed away into God’s hands on September 30, 2021. She was born April 9th 1943 in Syracuse NY and grew up in Lafayette NY the youngest daughter of the late Angelo and Angela Galutz.
Carole worked as an office manager at the Carrier Dome before it even opened until she retired after 31 years. She made many friends there; she would even bring a student or two home for the holidays when they couldn’t make it back to their own home. That was the type of person she was, generous and loving to everyone. She was a communicate of St. Margaret’s church in Homer, a volunteer for the Cortland Repertory Theatre, Preble Firemen’s Auxiliary and Catholic Daughters. She was also awarded the Citizen of the Year Award from the Tully Seniors Society, participated in the Preble Garden Club and was in the Red Hat society.
Carole is survived by her husband of 37 years, Gary Harris, sons Jay (Ann) Currie, Charles (Shelly) Currie, Michael (Becky) Currie, step daughters Anne (Adam) Gosser and Stephanie (Tom) Dunn, 13 grand kids, 3 great grandchildren, sister JoAnn (Bob) Lowe, Mila the dog and many, many friends and family. She was predeceased by her brother Guy (Jan) Galutz and longtime family pet Gracie.
Calling hours will be at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, Monday October 11th from 4 pm to 7pm. Services will be Tuesday October 12 at St. Margaret’s Church 14 Copland Ave., Homer NY starting at noon.
