Mrs. Carmine R. Puzo, 87, of Cortland, passed away, Saturday October 24, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, N.Y. after a brief illness. Born March 9, 1928 in Cortland, Carmine was the daughter of Joseph and Antionetta DiPaula Ferro and was a Cortland resident for her entire life.
Carmine was a graduate of St. Mary’s Parochial School Class of 1946 and a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. For 51 years, Carmine and her husband Louis, along with her brother, Salvatore and his wife Joan owned and operated The Terrace Restaurant in Cortland.
She is survived by her three sons; Dominick (Lynne) Puzo of Syracuse and Vincent and Anthony Puzo both of Cortland., her brother, Salvatore (Joan) Ferro of Cortland; three granddaughters, Mia Puzo (Bob Pitas), Gina Puzo (Eric Barden) and Lianna (Kevin) Morgan and two great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Carmine was preceded in death by her husband,
Louis F. Puzo in 2008.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Zareski serving as celebrant. The Christian Rite of Committal and burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
