Brian Dropchinski, 74 of Cortland, passed away on December 31, 2021 at the Syracuse Veterans
He was born on October 11, 1947 in New Jersey to his parents Chester Dropchinski and Jean McCullah.
Brian was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving his country in Vietnam. He was a
recipent of the Bronze Star, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary
Medal, and the Vietnam Services Medal. He was truly a man who loved and was dedicated to the
United States. In addition to his service in the military, Brian was also a florist, taking much pride in the
snap dragons he grew. He was a true sports fan, and was very proud of his children and grandchildren;
especially all of the soccer and tennis accomplishments.
Brian is survived by his children, Michele (Darrell) Card, Melissa (Brian) Rasbach, Sean (Amanda) Dropchinsk, and Matthew
Dropchinski; his brother Mark (Sally) Dropchinski; grandchildren Joshua Card, Tyler Card, Jackson Card, Tayte Card, Alexander Rasbach and Zachary Rasbach; and
niece and nephew Natasha and Christopher Dropchinski.
Calling hours for Brian will be on Saturday January 22, 2022 at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc.
from 9am to 10:30am. A Memorial Mass will take place the same day at St. Mary’s Church of Cortland at 11am.
Military honors will follow at Cortland Rural Cemetery. The mass can be live streamed on Brian’s

Brian was able to fufill his final wish, of donating his body to Anatomical Gift Program at UPSTATE
Medical Center for the education of others.
