Mrs. Arlene M. Turnbow, 87, formerly of Cortland, passed away October 16, 2021 in Georgia. Born November 7, 1933, Arlene was the daughter of Albert and Ida Farrell Funaro. Arlene was formerly employed by Watertown High School in the Vocational Dept. and was locally employed by J.C. Penney and the Convenient Food Mart on Groton Ave. She was a 20 year volunteer at the 1890 House in Cortland and a member of the Catholic Daughters of The Americas Court #919, Cortland.
She is survived by her daughter; Laura Mendez of Marietta, Georgia and her son; John Turnbow of Houston, Texas. Arlene is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Daniel Caughey presiding. Prayers of committal will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Riccardi Funeral Home, Cortland, N.Y.
