Alice Shirley Bell, 98, of Brooktondale, NY passed away on October 24, 2022 at the Auburn Nursing Home. She was born March 10, 1924, at home in Danby, she was one of ten children born to the late Austin Lathrop Rose and Florence Mae Beers Rose. Alice worked at Dairy Records at Cornell, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Brooktondale Baptist Church and Caroline Senior Citizens.
Alice is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Bell Palmer of Martville, NY; daughter-in-law Dorothy Bell, of Mocksville, NC; grandchildren, Cherith (David) Alexander, Marianne (Deceased) (Eric) Pitcher, Joel Palmer, Michael (Lisa) Bell, Martin (Shawn) Bell, Melanie (Daniel) Martin and Terah Frazer; great grandchildren, Martin, Samuel, Savannah Rose (Deceased), Micah, Nathan, Aaron, Alex and Kegan; great-great grandson, Leonardo; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her husband, Carlos L. “Carl” Bell in 2011, her son Carlos Bell Jr., her granddaughter, great granddaughter, and by her nine siblings, Iva Dupois, Bernard Rose, Mary Davis, Herbert Rose, Ralph Rose, Robert Rose, Esther Johnson, Alfred Rose and Betty Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, November 1st in the Brooktondale Baptist Church, with Pastor Mike Hammons and Mr. David Boyce officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden, NY. Relatives and friends may visit from 10-11 AM prior to the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Brooktondale Baptist Church, P O Box 144, Brooktondale, NY 14817
