Ada J. Wilson, 90, of Cortland, NY passed into the arms of her creator on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY, following many years of bravely managing kidney disease.
Born on September 4, 1925 in Maine, NY, daughter of Charles and Mildred Merihew Sturdevant, she married Roland Wilson on January 19, 1946. He predeceased her on July 20, 1976.
Ada was a seamstress with Crescent Corset for over thirty years, retiring in the early 1990’s. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, crypto quotes, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Ada is survived by one son, Gordon Wilson, St. Augustine, FL; one daughter, Torie (Victor) Tiffany, Ithaca, NY; one grandson, Jeffrey Wilson, Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Gracie (Cleon) Potter, Whitney Point, NY and Anna Wood, Sodus, NY; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ward Sturdevant and George Sturdevant, and one sister, Doris Vandeburg.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
