Gov. Hochul announced a record $150 million in funding available for art and culture organizations through the NYS Council on the Arts Capital Projects Fund.
The money is divided up into two categories, small and large capital improvement grants. $100 million of that endowment is new, multi-year funding to facilitate large-scale capital projects that prioritize community development and placemaking.
The State Council on the Arts has awarded grants totaling $50 million across all 10 Empire State regions since 2018.
