NY State Senate Looks to Increase Funding For Local Infrastructure in State Budget
New York State Senator Lea Webb (SD-52) says the Senate Majority’s budget looks to include increasing funding for infrastructure projects for roads, bridges, and public transit. Proposed funding shows increases for CHIPS, BRIDGE NY, PAVE NY, and more.
“As Washington pushes harmful cuts to programs and services that our communities rely on, my priority is delivering funding and resources home to the Southern Tier. Our Senate one-house budget proposal makes critical investments in infrastructure and our local governments, which are key to economic growth and community well-being. I am fighting to strengthen local infrastructure, expand transit access, and enhance mobility for all New Yorkers.”
Said Webb in a release.
The proposal will also include a second year increase for Aid and Incentives for Municipalities, better known as AIM Funding along with a quarter of a million dollar commitment to establish a NYS AIM Redesign Task Force that will look to modernize the AIM formula and index it to inflation.
