Another recruitment campaign is set to begin by the New York State Police. Applications for the New York state Troopers Entrance Exam will open on Monday, October 23rd and go through March 4th, 2024, with the last day to take entrance examinations on March 17th, 2024.
The State Police says their most recent recruitment effort brought in over 12,600 people to take the exam. There was also a significant increase in applications from those between the ages of 29 to 34, about 3,000.
For those interested in applying to take the exam, the State Police say there are 60 authorized testing centers in the city, and more than 390 in the nation. All applicants may choose where and when they’d like to take the exam. The State Police also offer a study guide, which can be found HERE.
Minimum qualifications for the exam are: being a US citizen, 20-34 years of age (the maximum may be extended one year for each year of full-time active military duty, up to 7 years), and having a high school diploma or equivalent.
