NY State of Health Partnering With Pharmacies Throughout State on Educating Consumers on Health Insurance

The New York State of Health has announced it will continue this year its partnership with pharmacies throughout the state including Kinney Drugs, and Rite Aid. The partnership is aimed to educate residents within the state on affordable health insurance and also help them find a plan that fits their needs and budget.

NY State of Health is the state’s official health plan marketplace. Residents visiting the participating pharmacies will find certified enrollment assistants who will provide information, answer questions they may have, and make appointments for consumers who wish to either renew or enroll.

“Enrolling in the right health plan will bring peace of mind to New Yorkers that they and their family’s health needs are covered,” State Health Commissioner Dr. James McDonald said. “When picking a plan, a personalized experience can make all the difference. I thank our NY State of Health Team for building these partnerships that bring enrollment assistors directly to communities across the state to help New Yorkers explore the options the Marketplace has to offer.”

Enrollment for 2024 coverage remains open for Medicaid, Essential Plan, Child Health Plus and Qualified Health Plans (QHP). Open Enrollment began November 16, 2023. New Yorkers Who Enroll by January 15 Will Have Coverage in Place for February 1.
