NY State of Health, the state’s official health plan Marketplace, has announced the launch of the 2023 open enrollment period for New Yorkers seeking public and commercial health insurance.
Consumers can begin enrolling or renewing now and have until December 15th to complete their enrollment into a health plan with coverage starting January 1st, 2023. Since the beginning of the federal COVID-19 Public Health Emergency in March 2020, coverage has also automatically been extended to New Yorkers enrolled in Medicaid, Child Health Plus or the Essential Plan, which has open enrollment all year.
The Open Enrollment Period for 2023 will extend through the duration of the Health Emergency.
