NY Senator Webb Looking for Submissions for This Year’s Earth Day Student Showcase

Earth Day is on April 22nd, and New York State Senator, Lea Webb is looking for submissions for her Earth Day Celebration Student Showcase. All submissions must be submitted by April 12th online at NYSenate.Gov/EarthDay.

The theme for this year’s Earth Day celebration is “Ways We Can Make Every Day Earth Day!” Senator Webb’s Office says the goal of the showcase is to teach students the importance of recycling and waste reduction, encourage students in discussing environmental issues in their communities, and motivate them to create solutions to their concerns.

“Each Earth Day highlights the importance of caring for our planet and the impacts we can make with our daily actions,” said Senator Lea Webb. “I’m excited to announce my Earth Day Celebration Student Showcase, inviting young minds in my district to express how we can incorporate Earth Day’s principles into everyday practices. Through their essays, artwork, and poetry, we can see their innovative solutions for recycling, waste reduction, and environmental protection. I look forward to seeing the submissions and encourage everyone to participate.”

Children in grades K-12 are encouraged to participate by submitting their essays, poetry, and artwork. All children who participate in the showcase will receive a certificate of recognition.
